EFD Induction to focus on core business—sells commercial heat treatment operation
EFD Induction, Europe’s largest induction heating company, has announced the sale of its
Germany-based commercial heat treatment operation EFD Härterei F. Düsseldorf GmbH.
The operation, which has units in Freiburg, Munich and Bielefeld, has been acquired by VTN Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (VTN Holding Company) and has been renamed VTN Fritz Düsseldorf GmbH.
“The divestment is in line with our strategy of focusing on our core business of developing and delivering induction heating equipment and related services,” says EFD Induction CEO Eivin Jørgensen. “The sale lets us put more resources into further securing our position as Europe’s number one induction heating company.
We have also significantly boosted our European manufacturing capabilities by opening a new facility in Romania.” The new 3,300m² factory in Romania is located in Vidra, just south of the capital Bucharest. “This new facility,” says Jørgensen, “will help us meet the strong European demand for EFD Induction equipment, particularly for induction hardening machines from the automotive and mechanical industries.”
