ESAB orders EFD Induction system for T-beam welding machine
ESAB, the world-renowned welding and cutting specialist, has ordered an EFD Induction Minac 50/80 Twin for one of its ESAB IT-100 automatic T-beam welding machines. The machine, to be installed at a shipyard in the Ukraine, is a fully automated solution with a welding speed of more than 1m/min. The EFD Induction Minac will be used to provide in-line straightening of the welded beams.

Repeat brazing equipment order from France’s Jeumont Electric
Jeumont Electric, the France-based specialist in power generation and conversion technologies, recently took delivery of an EFD Induction Minac 18/25 Twin induction heating system. The Minac is being employed to wind large two- and four- pole rotors. Two teams use the Minac to simultaneously braze conductors that are up to eight meters apart from one another.

SKIEN, NORWAY—29/11/09—Major Chinese steelmaker Taifeng Steel has purchased a Weldac induction welder from EFD Induction. The system will be used to weld 219 x 10 tubes for the domestic and overseas automotive industry. The Weldac, which is to be installed at Taifeng Steel’s new mill in Xintai in the eastern province of Shandong, is the first to be assembled and tested at EFD Induction’s own Chinese facilities.

SKIEN, NORWAY. EFD Induction is Europe’s No. 1 – and the world’s no. 2 - supplier of industrial heat solutions based on induction technology. EFD Induction supplied a 1800 kW WELDAC G2 for the customer SAFA in October. During the factory acceptance test (FAT) this equipment was tested at 1918 kW/100 kHz into calorimetric load. This is the first delivery of a welder above 1 megawatt based on the new patented IGBT technology.
